Take a chilling walk through Newmarket’s Haunted Halloween Trail, where 1 km of the Dave Kerwin Trail is transformed with spooky decorations, eerie lighting, sound effects, and actors in costume. Designed to frighten, this event is recommended for ages 10 and up, with children under 12 requiring a parent or guardian. Safety remains a top priority, and participants must follow the Town’s Code of Conduct.

As per Newmarket Today, Newmarket council is asking the province to tweak municipal speed camera rules instead of getting rid of them completely. Mayor John Taylor and other councillors pointed out that the program has been effective, cutting speeding by 58–90% in areas with automated enforcement. They’re suggesting practical changes, like keeping cameras in school zones or setting ticket thresholds, as a “win-win” way to address concerns while still keeping reckless drivers in check.
